The Asthma Foundation of Victoria Research Grants - 2010

The Asthma Foundation of Victoria funds research to support its mission of helping people manage their asthma all year round.  Through the application of the findings of research, the Foundation contributes to reducing the impact of asthma on individuals and families, reducing preventable asthma related deaths and illness and ensuring that people with asthma enjoy the best possible quality of life.

In 2010 the Foundation will offer two Research Grants for projects to be undertaken during the 2010 Calendar Year, together with The Lillian Roxon Travel Grant. The Grants on offer will be the Helen McPherson Smith Trust Grant for general asthma research and The Asthma Foundation of Victoria Research Grant for children's/adolescent asthma research. Both of these grants will be for amounts up to $25,000 (plus GST).

Grant applications are particularly encouraged from young researchers commencing their careers who may be able to utilise these 'seed' grants.

The Lillian Roxon Travel Grant, for travel during 2010, will be offered to young researchers to attend an international meeting to present their work or to conduct or continue their research overseas. The Lillian Roxon Travel Grants is for up to $5,000 (including GST).

The closing date for applications for the 2009 Asthma Foundation of Victoria Research Grants and The Lillian Roxon Travel Grant is 5-00 pm Friday, 31st July 2009.
