The Alfred Trial Asthma Program

Research recently undertaken by the Co-operative Research Centre for Asthma and Airways has found that asthma is not always being optimally managed in many people over the age of 50 and this substantially restricts their lifestyle.

We are currently trialling an asthma program which aims to improve the outcomes of people with asthma who are over 55 years of age.  Participation in the study will involve receiving information about managing asthma, completing some questionnaires on asthma medication and use, asthma symptoms and lifestyle restrictions. Lung function will also be tested. No travel is required as researchers can visit participants at home or at a mutually suitable location.

We are looking for volunteers in the Southern or Eastern suburbs of Melbourne or the South Gippsland region of Victoria.

If you would like to participate in the study or discuss the study further please contact Dianne:
