What is an In Memorial Program?

Often, after the passing of a loved one, family members look for special ways by which they can honour their memory. One way in which this can be done is by setting up an In Memorial Program with The Asthma Foundation of Victoria.

Under the program, any money that is donated to The Asthma Foundation of Victoria by family or friends is recorded as a gift in memory of the deceased. Often the family may ask that any money that would normally have been spent on flowers for the funeral is instead directed to The Asthma Foundation of Victoria. Of course donations in addition to this are welcomed and will also be recorded as a memorial gift.

The next of kin are notified in writing of the names of all those who have contributed and are also advised of the total amount given (of course the amount given by each individual is not disclosed).

How do I organise an in Memorial Gift?

When you are making arrangements with the Funeral Director in preparation for a funeral you can discuss your wishes for an In Memorial Gift. The Funeral Director will then contact The Asthma Foundation of Victoria for a supply of our special In Memorial envelopes and arrange for them to distributed at the service. Many families also like to mention these arrangements in the Funeral Notice that is placed in the newspaper so that those wishing to make a gift in lieu of flowers can do so.
