Dyson will work in association with retail partners Harvey Norman, to support Victorians with asthma as part of National Asthma Week, 1 to 7 September.
Australia has one of the highest incidences of asthma in the world, with one in ten adults and one in nine children having the condition. This means more than 660,000 Victorians, from infants to the elderly have asthma.
For every nine Dyson HEPA vacuum cleaners sold (up to a maximum value of RRP$500,000) Dyson will donate a HEPA vacuum to a family who has children with asthma.
Speaking about the campaign a Dyson spokesperson said: "it allows us to help educate the community about how serious asthma can be and of course some of the things that can be done to help minimise the incidence of asthma attacks in the home by using the right vacuum cleaner."
The "Donate a Dyson" campaign has been running for two years and has contributed over $700,000 worth of Dyson vacuum cleaners in support of healthier environments for families with asthma.
Dyson has been supporting the Australia’s Asthma Foundations since 1999 and to date has helped raise over $2.5 million towards asthma awareness and education.
