Clean air is something we take for granted until we visit a place with poor air quality or experience a poor air quality day closer to home. It's more than just unpleasant, poor air quality that is a threat to good health.
There are numerous studies which show that poor air quality contributes to poor health, including premature death, cardiovascular disease, cancer, stroke, and asthma and other respiratory diseases. Children, the elderly and individuals who are active outdoors are particularly vulnerable to health effects from exposure to poor air.
