The Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE) and Parks Victoria advise that planned burning will be carried out in the following areas tomorrow, Saturday 14 April 2012, weather conditions permitting:
Upper Murray District:
- Darbyshire - A 548 hectare fuel reduction burn located 6km north west of Koetong
Ovens District:
- Mount Beauty LMB Redbank - A 2005 hectare fuel reduction burn located 3.3km north east of Towonga
- Honey Lane - A 97 hectare fuel reduction burn located 6km NNW of Whitfield
- Back Creek Road - A 874 hectare fuel reduction burn located 1.2 km east of Buffalo River
- Hillsborough - A 1116 hectare fuel reduction burn located 1.2 km west of Freeburgh
- Carboor Parkinsons Road - A 254 hectare fuel reduction burn located 7km south east of Carboor

- Moonlight Track - A 224 hectare fuel reduction burn located in the Warby Ovens National Park, 2km NNW of Glenrowan
- Bunyip 5 - A 17.5 hectare fuel reduction burn located 28km NNE of Nathalia
- Chinamans Garden - A 273 hectare fuel reduction burn located at Tongalong Island, Barmah State Park
- Black Springs - A 228 hectare fuel reduction burn located in the Warby Ovens National Park, 9km west of Wangaratta
- Post Patch - A 45 hectare fuel reduction burn located in the Warby Ovens National Park, 9km west of Wangaratta
- Mt Killawarra - A 140 hectare fuel reduction burn located 4km north east of Boweya
Murrindindi District:
- Toolangi, Marysville Alexandra and Broadford Areas - Commercial timber harvesting regeneration burns located in areas around Toolangi, Marysville, Alexandra and Broadford.

- Walwa Shelley Road - A 159 hectare fuel reduction burn located 4 km north east of Shelley
DSE and PV are doing more planned burning to reduce the risk of bushfire to people, property and communities. You may be affected by smoke from these planned burns.
What to do
- If you are experiencing any symptoms that may be due to smoke exposure, the Department of Health advises that you should seek medical advice or call Nurse on Call on 1300 606 024.
Road users
- Road travel may be hazardous due to low visibility associated with smoke;
- Signs may be in place to slow traffic. Obey all traffic signs and instructions from fire agency crews near the burn.
- For road closures check www.vicroads.vic.gov.au
- Access to walking tracks, car parks, camping grounds and picnic sites in areas close to or in burn areas may be restricted [– list these if possible.]
Smoke and your home
- Close windows and doors to prevent smoke from entering.
- Avoid hanging washing out.
