There are likely to be several opportunities for planned burning early this week in areas where the fuel is dry enough to burn.
Burning is underway today in Melbourne’s eastern metropolitan area and is likely to continue on Tuesday. Other opportunities are also likely in East Gippsland, the Wimmera and far south west of the state on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Planned burning opportunities will be limited later in the week, with a rise in temperature and higher winds on Thursday, followed by cooler conditions and possible showers moving across the state on Friday and
into the weekend.
DSE is monitoring fuel conditions across the rest of the state to take advantage of planned burning opportunities as they arise.
