The Asthma Foundation of Victoria is committed to funding a program of continuous research which will provide outcomes that directly reduce the impact of asthma within the Victorian community and help people manage their asthma all year round.
The Foundation offers a number of Research Grants each year. The Grants available are usually advertised Monday 27th June 2011, with a closing date for submission of applications Friday 19th August 2011. Successful Grant applicants of the following year are announced in October each year.

The Asthma Foundation of Victoria generally offers a number Research Grants each year. Grants that are available in 2012 are:
- The Helen Macpherson Smith Grant for general asthma research
- The Walter Jona Grant for childrens asthma research
- The Lillian Roxon Travel Grant
The Foundation particularly encourages Grant applications from young researchers commencing their investigative research careers.
The Asthma Foundation of Victoria funds research projects where the principal investigator is resident in Victoria.
